Delete your data or your account
You can delete some of your data while keeping your account, or delete the whole account, yourself and from inside the app. No email or waiting period is needed for either.
Delete some data and keep your account
- A single entry (a feed, nap, diaper, dose, growth check, solids, or activity): tap it on the Timeline, then tap the trash icon. It is removed for everyone in the household right away.
- A Quill conversation: on the Quill tab, swipe the chat (iPhone) or tap its trash icon (Android). The messages are deleted from our servers immediately.
- Visits, providers, medications, and vaccine records: open the item and use Delete.
- Your device tokens: signing out removes this device's push token.
- A whole household you share with others: leave it from Settings. Your name comes off the entries you logged; the records stay with the other caregivers.
Deleted items are gone from the live database at once and drop out of encrypted backups within 30 days.
Delete your whole account
- Open Quill & Cradle and go to Settings (the gear on the Timeline screen).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account is removed immediately.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in identity and account record.
- Every household where you are the only caregiver, including all of its children, feeds, sleep, diapers, medications, visits, providers, vaccine records, and Quill conversations.
- Your device push tokens, notification preferences, and Quill usage records.
What is kept
- Households you share with other caregivers stay with them. Their copy of the shared records is theirs, and your name is removed from the entries you logged.
- Subscription receipts are kept by Apple or Google under their own policies. Cancel any active subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings; deleting the account does not cancel billing.
If you can no longer sign in
Email elson@thebytequill.com from the address on the account and we will delete it for you within 30 days. We will confirm by reply before and after.
