Privacy Policy
Quill & Cradle helps caregivers track a baby's feeds, sleep, diapers, medications, milestones, and growth. This policy explains what we collect and how it's handled.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address (or Apple ID credential) and a random account identifier, used solely to sign you in.
- Care records you enter: feeding, sleep, and diaper logs; medication names, schedules, and dose history (for your baby and, if you choose, for yourself); milestones and growth measurements; your child's name and date of birth; household and caregiver membership.
- Device push token: if you enable notifications, an anonymous Apple or Google push token so the service can deliver reminders, check-in notes, and caregiver updates.
- Quill conversations: if you subscribe to Plus, the messages you send Quill and its replies, stored so you can return to a conversation later. You can delete any conversation in the app.
We do not collect advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos, or analytics profiles. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we never sell or share data with data brokers.
Quill
Quill, the in-app companion, is powered by Anthropic's Claude models through Anthropic's API. When you ask Quill a question, the relevant parts of your household's log and your message are sent to Anthropic to generate the reply and are handled under Anthropic's commercial terms, which do not permit training on your data. Quill can prepare entries for you, but nothing is written to your records until you review and confirm it in the app. Quill's optional check-in notes are produced by fixed rules on our server and involve no AI model at all.
About your child's information
You, the adult account holder, enter and control all information about your child. Children do not use Quill & Cradle themselves and no information is collected from a child. Records about your child are visible only to the caregivers you explicitly invite to your household.
Where data lives
Care records are stored with our hosting provider (Supabase, Postgres, hosted in the region selected at account creation) encrypted in transit and at rest, and cached on your devices so the app works offline. Access is enforced server-side per household membership: only caregivers in your household can read your family's records.
Sharing
We do not sell data and we have no advertising partners or cross-app tracking. Data leaves the service only when you export it yourself, for example a pediatrician report or visit pack you generate and share, or when Quill sends your question and the relevant log excerpts to Anthropic to answer it.
Subscriptions
Quill & Cradle Plus is billed by Apple or Google. We receive a receipt that confirms the subscription is active and its renewal date, never your payment details.
Notifications
Medication reminders, rest window nudges, and visit reminders are scheduled on your device. If push notifications are enabled, our server sends caregiver-activity, reminder, and check-in notifications through Apple's or Google's push service using your anonymous device token. Check-ins are off unless you turn them on, and you can set quiet hours.
Deletion and your rights
- Delete account (Settings → Delete account) permanently removes your account and every household only you belong to, including all its care records. Shared households remain with the other caregivers.
- You can export your data at any time (Settings → Export).
